Check the exclusions. If your flights/trains/busses are cancelled for any reason it's probably on their exclusions list. Airline cancels a flight, too bad for any other connections that relied on that, Tinz wont cover them. Unrest in a country you're going to resulting in a travel advisory, nope not gonna cover it, we're gonna call it a civil war and therefore exclude it. Airline goes bust, yeah no cover for that. Same goes for almost any other form of travel. They call it travel insurance but don't actually cover the travelling.

I have been using TINZ for the duration of my long term holiday and I have been very satisfied with their service. Staff are very responsive and helpful. Claims are easy and straightforward to submit. The policy is clear and can be easily understood. All round I am very happy I chose TINZ as my travel insurance provider.

With the comprehensive+ policy I thought would have complete cover but no.
Cancellation of a flight due to technical issues is NOT covered.
A connecting flight within 4 hours of your main flight is NOT covered.

It was comforting to go on holiday knowing that if anything untoward happened, that we were insured with a reliable company that would tend to our needs if required.
Staff were efficient and we felt that we could rely on them if need be.
We are going away again in April and will certainly contact you beforehand.
There were a few confusing things with the emails that I received. I would email the address advertised on the TINZ brochure, website, and on my claims contact email address. However, I'd receive emails from an email address about my claim that was different to those emails. The first email sent to me, had a link for me to update my personal details (like passport etc), however it didn't work, as it said my claims number didn't exist. This is when I realised the email address was different. This is scam 101: if the email address is different it is probably a scam, and usually don't press the link! I forwarded this email to the proper email address and they responded saying no the email address is correct, they are the same company, it is just the NZ email address and the Australian email address, however the customer service rep had sent me the wrong link which is why it didn't work. Then the follow up emails were from another different email address again. To ensure it wasn't a scam, I forwarded it again, and was assured it was correct. I think this is the only part that is confusing. This should be written somewhere for customers to know. As we are now taught these days, scam 101, if its not the right email address, its probably a scam so don't press the link. Anyway besides that, calling the claims customer service number, and emailing a customer service representative directly was super helpful! They were understanding, and gave me all of the information we needed. Another note, it had a claims phone number that was only an NZ number, and being overseas we didnt want to rack up a huge bill to call it (maybe have an international number on whatsapp that we can call. That would be SO handy. Everyone travelling has free wifi where theyre staying usually). My dad in NZ called on our behalf, and they were helpful anyway, and told us we can claim $250 each for our lost luggage. They were also helpful through email, and also understanding. They assumed my pain medication was for pre-existing health conditions and so it wasn't covered. When I explained the situation and that it wasn't, they re-reviewed the claim and the amount that they had deducted, and then added this amount back on. Anyway, thanks for helpful over a call and through email!
