Our goal is to help New Zealanders make informed travel insurance decisions by providing useful insights and genuine customer reviews based on real experiences. These guidelines are designed to maintain the quality, relevance and authenticity of the reviews shared on Comparetravelinsurance.co.nz

For Consumers

How we collect & moderate reviews

Verified customers only

You must be a legitimate customer of the insurer to write a review. Employees, service providers and significant shareholders are not permitted to review.

Email verification

You’ll need a valid email address to register. This is for verification purposes only and will never be published.

Editorial moderation

Every review is checked before publication. If your review doesn’t meet our guidelines, it may not be published or may be removed.

No incentivised reviews

We never pay for or incentivise reviews. All opinions published are genuine and uninfluenced.

Published within 48 hours

Once approved, your review usually goes live within 48 hours, and we’ll send you a confirmation email.

Ongoing monitoring

Even after publication, we may remove a review at any time if it's later found to breach these guidelines.

How to write a helpful review


	Do	Don't
	Write an honest, fair reflection of your experience as a customer.	Use profanity, swearing, or offensive or threatening language.
	Support your star rating with written comments to help others.	Name and slander individuals.
	Be specific and constructive in your feedback.	Include unsolicited advertising or promotions.
		Write in ALL CAPS or place strong emphasis on particular words (this is often read as shouting).
		Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your association with a person or entity.

Report a review

You can report a guideline violation via our Contact Us page.

Edit or remove your review

Once submitted, currently your review can’t be edited. If you’d like it removed or realise you’ve made a mistake and want to amend it, please get in touch.

Fake reviews

If we identify fake reviews being submitted for a listing, we may block the users responsible and prevent further reviews from being submitted to that listing. If we find that a business is systematically submitting or arranging fake reviews to mislead consumers or unfairly harm competitors, we may report the matter to the New Zealand Commerce Commission.

Where your review appears

When you write a review, you agree to it being posted publicly and it becomes the property of CoverDirect Pty Ltd. We may use your comments in promotional materials and it may appear on more than one of our websites.
