TINZ is a New Zealand specialist travel insurer and there are a few things about their cover which set them apart: cruise cover is included as standard at no extra cost, cover can be extended up to 18 months (well above the industry norm), and dependants under 19 travel free. Just be mindful that claims response times are a little slower compared to competitors.

Wonderful and easy to purchase.
Being busy the online application was easy. When I had to extend my trip ( twice ) that too was an effortless experience. Would use TINZ again

Value for money
Buying TINZ insurance online was a quick and easy process. We have used TINZ for the last three years for overseas travel insurance.

A worthless company
They charge you minimal price so they don't need to cover anything that happens on your travels, hiding between the very fine print of their policies, do not buy from them as you won't get paid for any claims.

Very helpful in a stressful time
Our first day in Italy out of a 3 week holiday our 2 year old needed to go to the hospital due to an allergic reaction. We phoned TINZ and the person I spoke to was very helpful in finding the nearest hospital. Our expenses were less than $400 so we didn’t put in a claim as the excess was $400 but the help we received was well worth the investment in the insurance as well as having the peace of mind if anything did escalate during our visit and our 3 week holiday. I would definitely use them again and recommend them due to the coverage and customer service received.

When no one else cared,TINZ did.
We tried all the travel insurance companies we could think of but only TINZ would take us on.Intelligent questions which got to the truth about our situation rather than a blank NO.The peace of mind this gave us on our travels was priceless.Very grateful.

TINZ great claim experience on cancelled trip
We were attracted to TINZ due to the competitive pricing and coverage for a trip to the US. Unfortunately we had to cancel trip due to a sudden and unexpected surgery. Claim process was simple with all of non-refundable bookings paid out. It removed a lot of stress in a difficult and unexpected situation. Definitely will use again.

When I accidentally had the wrong holiday start date as a guest of good will TINZ extended my cover for an extra day at no cost which was amazing service!

Highly recommended
This is the best company for travellers. I have been insured for a few years. Claim was simple and processing was quick. I was very impressed when I was admitted to the hospital in overseas last year. Since then I always go to this company for my travel insurence.Thank you so much helping when I was sick last year.This year I travelled twice without any incidents but I felt I was safe as I was insured by TINZ. Quick and Easy
I found TINZ great to deal with. I lost my luggage while overseas and had to purchase some basics. When I returned to New Zealand, the claim was all online and easy to complete. Someone got in touch with me really quickly and the claim was all sorted within a few days of answering questions and providing information.

I felt truly insured
This is the second year l used TINZ.<br/>I was so impressed last year when a medical bill was reembursed without a fuss six month after the policy had expired.
Easy to set up and, happily, didn't need to make a claim. We use this service on all our trips that involve external transport providers, accommodation etc. Very reassuring!
