TINZ is a New Zealand specialist travel insurer and there are a few things about their cover which set them apart: cruise cover is included as standard at no extra cost, cover can be extended up to 18 months (well above the industry norm), and dependants under 19 travel free. Just be mindful that claims response times are a little slower compared to competitors.

Simple processes
Taking out a policy is simple, fast and efficient. Unfortunately, due to unexpected health issues, we had to cancel and the claims process has far exceeded my expectations.

Could not proceed with holiday
Very pleased with the way our claim was handled after we were forced to abandon our travel plans due to my wife's injury. <br/>Our claim was handled promptly and in a professional manner.

Very competive rates and website easy to use.
Fortunately we had no cause to make a claim so cannot comment on that. The rates are very good and the website clear and straightforward. We will recommend TINZ to others and use it again ourselves.

Unsatisfactory result
I had an indecent while away and sort a claim as it was a fluke accident, however was told not covered for this particular happening, yet if I had said one word different would have been covered I was truthful, however I am not one to lie. So I am not happy as it has cost me dearly. Sorry wont use again. I had been told great value but will use my same one I always use.

Easy to organize insurance,good communication. Cover for USA,Canada appropriate for destination. Going there next year as well and will use company again.Thanks.

time taken to settle the claim
the rental company deducted the excess immediately and you were given a print screen of this from our bank account. nevertheless you still wanted a copy of the repair invoice. this held things up

Good to have altho we never had to use it - good communication from TINZ
This is the second time we have used TINZ - admittedly we didn't have to claim but feel reassured the process would have worked as TINZ kept in touch with us! Significantly cheaper than other options. we chose Comprehensive plus and were travelling to USA.

Great Value For Money
I didn't have to claim but it was the cheapest I could find. The first ever company to send me an email asking if my trip was ok or if I needed to claim anything. Wonderful!

Very happy.
We travelled to 20 countries and thought our cover was extremely well priced so questioned the ease we might have should we need to claim anything. We lost our passports midtrip and applied to have them covered. It was the easiest, most straight forward experience I have ever had, in terms of insurance. They were kind, helpful & efficient with responses and the whole claim. I would highly recommend.
