TINZ is a New Zealand specialist travel insurer and there are a few things about their cover which set them apart: cruise cover is included as standard at no extra cost, cover can be extended up to 18 months (well above the industry norm), and dependants under 19 travel free. Just be mindful that claims response times are a little slower compared to competitors.

Online policy extension process needs a checkup
I extended my policy by a day but the online process looked like it was about to rebill the original cost not the extension cost so I resorted to phoning the call centre

Simple to obtain
As the policy was not used for anything. I can not rate how good the product is regarding claims. Very easy to obtain product online.

great performance
taking out the insurance was an easy and smooth experience and even though there was a couple of hiccups with data it was fixed with no hassles . very easy to talk to the person on other end of phone.

All good so far
Good value and easy to buy, but no claims yet, and that is the real acid test. However I have no reason to believe that you would be difficult to deal with in the event of a claim.

Easy, convenient and well priced.
So easy to organise online for 1 or more people, price is great, and policy seems comprehensive. Have used TINZ more than once and would do so again. Have never had to make a claim as yet.

Hassle free
Easy to use and book travel insurance online. My preferred travel insurance brand as it offers one of the most competitive prices around. Have not had to experience making a claim to date, so that's been a bonus. Regularly use TINZ for leisure travel and recommended to friends and family

cost effective cover
fortunately I didnt need to make a claim, however, TINZ was the best price cover I could find for the level of cover that I wanted. Purchasing the insurance was straightforward

Best value for rental vehicle CDW cover
Only wanted CDW excess cover as the rental company's zero excess nearly doubled the rental. This was best for peace of mind.

Customer Call Centre
Prior to taking out travel insurance, I attempted to contact the customer centre re: pre-existing medical conditions. After three attempts being kept on hold for 10, 5 and 3 minutes I called it quits and went ahead with the online insurance application as I assumed that nothing had changed with pre-existing conditions since we last took out a TINZ policy in Dec, 2017. As it is more than likely we will use TINZ again in Feb, 2019 when we travel to the Philippines and Singapore, I presume nothing will have changed.

Great service
Prompt efficient service to get quote for additional cover for a pre-existing condition. Would be happy to use again.
I think there are 4 trips now I have used TINZ travel insurance for a different country on each occasion. Obtaining & easy acceptance/purchase online via website. Fortunately on each trip I have not had to make a claim but it is the 'peace of mind' that I am purportedly covered.
