TINZ is a New Zealand specialist travel insurer and there are a few things about their cover which set them apart: cruise cover is included as standard at no extra cost, cover can be extended up to 18 months (well above the industry norm), and dependants under 19 travel free. Just be mindful that claims response times are a little slower compared to competitors.

Speedy service
I lodged my claim, a dentist emergency - nothing dramatic though - yesterday. Today, 24 hrs later I got an approval email. Wonderful, speedy service for a competitive price. Awesome!

Super easy to organise with the friendly & helpful staff! Had to add an extra day on due to airline sending us the wrong ticket and rang TINZ and they added on an extra day.

Companydoes not pay out for claims
Me and my partner spent over $6000 for 18 months of cover which was by far not the cheapest insurance company around, we just wanted to make sure we had proper cover. After 6 months of no claims, my partner's handbag was stolen from a locked vehicle and they won’t pay out, they have so many loop holes written into their contract you’re better of just saving your money and replacing your own stuff when the time comes.

They won't let me cancel my policy before the trip has even started. Because of this I have wasted my money. Would not recommend. Try another company.

Peace of mind!
When I go overseas it's extremely important to me if in case I NEED medical/hospital support I know I'll not be unassisted... Don't worry, I look after myself very well but knowing that there is a good background it's a peace of mind!

Customer experience
I called from India on your emergency call number and waited for over 10 minutes to speak to someone about a possible claim. Person apologised but the wait not what I expected and not acceptable.

Comprehensive and affordable cover
Good value for money compared to other insurance companies. Cover required for an existing condition was well priced. Will use in future.
