TINZ Travel Insurance Review

I had no need to make a claim, but taking out the insurance was very straightforward and I appreciated the email check ins. Thank you.

Every time i tried to login to the members portal there was always maintenance going on, and when I emailed to ask why they always took a long time to reply and the answers did not help at all. Would not use again and would not recommend.

Easy to take out, all online, electronic documents came quickly, and regular reminders of when you are covered and when it is expiring.

All went well and your website was easy to use , next time we travel will use again 👌😋<br/><br/>

I had an emergency injury while overseas and the insurance has taken 5+ days to tell me whether or not I am covered. I had to book an emergency flight back to NZ with my own money because I could no longer wait any longer. The staff were also impolite over the phone and genuinely do not care about their customers.

Easily the cheapest and super easy to add dates with a minimal fee. Cruise cover included. A+ Would recommend.

It's one of those things. You buy travel insurance in the hope of never needing to use it. Had an unfortunate holiday experience of being left stranded on a remote island after airline operator had continually cancelled flights to and from the island for days (with no guarantee when flights would resume). Claims process on this occasion turned out to be very easy and straightforward with the claim being processed surprisingly quickly. Based on this experience, have no hesitations in recommending them.

My wife sustained an injury to her tooth whilst on holiday. The injury happened just 2 days before we could return back to NZ. Wrote to customer services and asked that if this will be covered by our policy as we could only source treatment from the dentist on our return. Surprised to be told that the Insurance will not pay or accept liability for treatment back in NZ. Tried explaining to the person at Customer Services that we bought over the counter pain relief medication and it is so difficult to get a dentist in a foreign country. Plan to take this issue up with the Insurance Ombudsman/council. We thought we were taking the best possible cover and we paid substantially more because we declared all medical issues and paid extra for this to be covered. Very disappointed.

Good affordability compared to another insurer, 1Cover, who I've used in the past. Easy to follow policy. Will use in the future with my travels.

I recently went to India, where i got very sick and had to be hospitalized, although in the end it wasn't necessary for me to make a claim, TINZ representatives remained in contact to ensure my well-being. Great supporting organisation highly recommend .
