TINZ is a New Zealand specialist travel insurer and there are a few things about their cover which set them apart: cruise cover is included as standard at no extra cost, cover can be extended up to 18 months (well above the industry norm), and dependants under 19 travel free. Just be mindful that claims response times are a little slower compared to competitors.

Excellent all the way
Taking out the policy was easy, staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, cover was better than most others available to us, the policy wording is very clear and the premium we paid was very competitive compared with other quotes we received. Unfortunately due to illness we needed to cancel our trip and make a claim for our expenses. The whole process was straightforward and our claim was paid out promptly. Every dealing I've had with the staff has been friendly and positive. I can't recommend this company highly enough!

All great apart from upon my return to NZ after accident
I had amazing support and help overseas following an injury accident but person i dealt with when i returned to NZ was unhelpful and left me feeling it was all about getting me back home ASAP to stop them having to pay for treatment rather than getting best and quickest treatment results overseas for me. A bit sad really after all the good work done by others in their team.

Don’t use anyone else
I’ve always used TINZ as they are easy to use and good value for money. I’ve claimed once which was also a easy process. I recommend these guys to everyone I know that travels.

Rapid settlement
I had two claims submitted after a recent trip to Bali, one for medical and one for camera damage. Both were settled quickly and in full, minus the excess as per the policy. The service was great and the premium cost was the lowest by far of several NZ companies I checked out.

Easy to work with with and a really no hustle payment
Really easy to get the insurance and when I came back from holiday, there was some damage to a specific item due to my own personal neglect.<br/>I have gathered all the necessary evidence, quotes and documentation that was required on the website and launched the claim.<br/>Less than 5 hours later I have received a confirmation that they will cover the damage and will pay the set amount into my account.<br/>I couldn't believe how quick and easy everything was.
The policy was easy to set-up, appears to be good value for the cover provided. Would be happy to use them again in the future.
