1Cover Travel Insurance Review

Was so easy to complete form and organise cover. Also the follow up emails and contact access. Would use again and recommend to friends

we had a quote with our tickets, it wasn't a bad price I thought for two adults. But 1Cover came up on my FB feed and I thought I would compare. Identical levels of cover (only I could opt for a lower excess) and the price was half the quote from our agent. It was a no brainer, online reviews supported 1cover as a great option.

While on a cruise ship, I identified a melanoma, which needed immediate excision and histology. 1Cover was very prompt in providing the go-ahead, in following up progress, and in settling the claim. Excellent!

I had initially only planned to be in Japan for my holiday but the opportunity arose for me to travel to South Korea. I had not put this on my initial policy. We have insured with 1Cover many times and the process online is always simple, even for the need of extra cover (eg camera equipment) or existing medical conditions. <br/><br/>We have only needed to claim once, and that was quickly and efficiently carried out. The claim was made several months after our travel, when an unexpected bill was sent through from our overseas destination. There was no issue with the lateness of the claim, and this took away the stress of  a rather large potential expense that would have left a "bad taste"  about the holiday. <br/><br/>We are very happy with 1Cover!!!!

We took insurance because of my Artrial fibrillation. When my wife fell down the stairs and badly broke her right femur it was all. One phone call to 1Cover Insurance and at a moment everything was taken off my shoulders. After my wife Lorna's operation and release from hospital their planning to get us home on a flight to New Zealand was absolutely first class from everyone who contacted us. Easy to order, easy to print and keep with us, easy to understand cover conditions, haven't had to claim though so you never know until you need it.

Would have given a 10 for claim response had I not found the online claim process a little clunky and slow. In other respects very good with helpful advice by phone and a very quick claim approval.

I've never made a claim from any travel insurance company. Also I don't carry anything of value which I couldn't afford to lose.. But that's not the real point. Because things can change suddenly. So I buy insurance for peace of mind especially if I require medical assistance. So I don't want an insurance company who scrunts their way through any potential preexisting condition with a view to avoid a claim if something goes astray. Everyone carries a medical risk whether they know it or not. And no Kiwi ever goes on holiday deliberately to get unwell or get an intervention. It's all free here anyhow. So this is why I always choose 1cover insurance. No fuss. No frills. Reasonable exclusions. And reasonable pricing.
