1Cover Travel Insurance Reviews

Was travelling between Melborne and Sydney when cashew nut shell or hard piece cracked a filling. Long story short. Could not get treatment in the two days between Melbourne and Sydney and did not in the two days after due to not knowing dentists etc and scheduling. Thought i could treat back in NZ nut I have been told no go on NZ based treatment.

It was easy to choose 1 Cover as I didn't have to read through pages & pages of information to know that I was choosing the right cover package. The cost to be covered was excellent. I'm an AA member & their best offer was around $150-200 to get similar coverage so 1 Cover was far the best.

I got my friend to use the link to purchase her insurance but didn’t get gift card as promised!

We are sensible people who do not engage in silly
antics ! so hopefully we may never have a claim :)

My wallet was stolen while i was overseas and 1Cover staff were helpful with the claim process and receive the amount that i was covered for quickly.

We had a few glitches getting to Bali mid September with a cancelled flight from Wellington to connect to Auckland and a flight that had to turn back 90 minutes in. I had called for advice after the first glitch and although we didn't need to claim anything it was reassuring to talk to someone. At least we missed the potential volcano issues

I'm a frequent purchaser of this company's products each time I travel. The website product recommendation after entering your destination is easy and usually what I purchase. Keep up the good work.

Very quick to apply, good rate for cruise holiday, would use them again. Much cheaper than competitors for our needs this time.

We had many issues with OneCover. We found them extremely prompt with responses with anything related to sales, but once they had our money the response rate dropped off. We made three claims. The first took months to settle, with waits of over two weeks between responses e.g. 'please provide this document to support your claim', we would provide it, then two weeks later be asked for another document. Went we were finally paid out, the depreciation rates were horrific, e.g. Kindle we had been using for two months last 40% of what we had paid for it.
Second claim went smoothly.
Third claim again we had many problems. We had extended our insurance, and claimed for an item we bought during our trip. OneCover deemed the extension a new policy, so instead of getting back the full value of the item, we lost a third of the value. In amongst this they went back and forward on the policy, finally admitting that through most of the claim process they hadn't realised we had extended our policy.
In short, their computer systems are a shambles, claims are difficult, and high rates of depreciation are applied.

While we were lucky not to have any claims we were not able to make an assessment on claims handling which I feel is the most important measure of an insurance company.
We did have a need to extend our travel cover, which was undertaken very efficiently, from overseas, we were however, very dissapointed at the very high cost of extending our cover by 4 days.

I have had to make three claims for unforeseen expenses overseas and they have all been dealt with very promptly, no delays, questions or hassles. I highly recommend 1Cover and will continue to use it.

I was in bali recently during the possible eruption of MT Agung volcano. I emailed 1cover to ensure my policy covered this particular natural disaster. I was beyond impressed with how speedy the reply was given the probable high volume of customers asking similar questions. Thank you 1cover you eased a lot of stress.
